Asian Ground Chicken Stir Fry

Easy ground chicken stir fry makes for a quick and delicious dinner any day of the week!  Made with ground chicken, shiitake mushrooms and various Asian style seasonings, this is a great low carb and keto dish when short on time!

Stir-fry’s are my go-to when I am in a rush to make dinner.

Since I almost always have ground chicken in my freezer, I decided to make an easy ground chicken stir-fry using only a few ingredients to keep it simple but also appealing for my kids.

All you need are some basic Asian seasonings to create this chicken stir fry that’s packed with so much flavor, we like to call it our version of a low carb lettuce wrap in a bowl!

This dish is delicious on its own or topped over cauliflower rice, or even a bed of lettuce.  It’s also a great meal prep option that you can make ahead of time.

How do you make Asian Ground Chicken Stir-fry?

This Asian ground chicken stir-fry is incredibly easy to make and only takes a few minutes from start to finish.  First, brown ground chicken until cooked thoroughly, then add shiitake mushrooms, garlic, cayenne, salt and black pepper.  Lastly, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil and chopped green onions.  Mix well and serve hot is all it takes!

The seasoning for this dish is very simple.  Soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and cayenne pepper make up the flavors of this easy Asian style stir-fry recipe.

Do you have any tips on making Asian Ground Chicken Stir-Fry?

  • Make sure to use high heat when cooking.
  • Use a high temp neutral oil when stir frying.
  • Use a large wok or a deep fry pan since you will be doing a lot of tossing and stirring.
  • Have all the ingredients chopped and ready to go before starting.  Stir frying goes fast, so you won’t have time to chop in-between steps.

The special ingredients needed for this recipe are Toasted Sesame Oil, Soy Sauce, and optional Toasted Sesame Seeds, which you can pick up on Amazon or a local supermarket.

Now, let’s get stir frying up some Asian style ground chicken!

  • Prepping Time 2M

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Chicken
  • 4 Fresh Shiitake Mushrooms (can sub with hydrated dried shiitake)
  • 2 Garlic Clove
  • 1 Stalk Green Onion
  • 1 tbsp Neutral Cooking Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/8 tsp Ground Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds (optional garnish)
  • 1 Chili Pepper (optional garnish)

Directions

1) Gather all the ingredients.

2) Chop Shiitake mushroom and green onions as shown below.

3) Grate garlic with a grater or garlic press and set aside.

4) In a deep Teflon frying pan or Wok, add neutral cooking oil and bring up to temp on high heat.  Once up to temp and the oil is lightly smoking, add ground chicken and break apart with a spatula.  Next, add in chopped shiitake mushrooms, grated garlic, salt, black pepper and ground cayenne pepper.  Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes while stirring until chicken is cooked through.

5) Once chicken is cooked, add in Soy Sauce, Toasted Sesame Oil and chopped green onions.  Mix well, transfer to a serving plate and top with optional Toasted Sesame Seeds and fresh chili pepper.
