Bacon Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms

These delicious Bacon Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms are the perfect low carb appetizer!  They’re stuffed with mozzarella, bacon and topped with fresh basil then baked to perfection.  What you end up with are juicy mushrooms that are bursting with flavor!

Mushrooms have always been a staple at our house.  My family loves them!  Usually, we just do a stir fry with butter and seasoning or we will grill them on the BBQ.

When I finally got around to experimenting with stuffing mushrooms, I immediately regretted not doing it sooner!

It just makes so much sense filling the mushroom cap hole with some delicious goodness!

These stuffed mushrooms are very simple to make.

After washing them, you simply pull off the stem, lay them on a baking sheet and fill them with mozzarella, bacon, seasoning and add a sprinkle of fresh chopped basil.

Baking times will vary slightly depending on the size of the mushrooms but generally after about 12-15 minutes or when they turn golden brown.

This makes for a perfect low carb appetizer to serve at your next dinner party!  Plus, they look beautiful with all the complimenting colors.

You can also make this a meal for yourself and have yourself a little mushroom feast!

Ingredients

  • 12 Medium Sized Common Mushrooms
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp White Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Chili Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Bacon
  • Fresh Basil

Directions

1) Gather all the ingredients.

2) Preheat oven to 350F and line baking sheet with a silicone baking mat (parchment paper works as well).

3) In a small mixing bowl, combine garlic powder, White Pepper, salt, and ground chili. Mix well and set aside.

4) Wash, de-stem mushrooms, and then place mushroom onto the silicone baking mat concave up.

5) Chop the proper amount of bacon and set aside.

6) Stuff mozzarella cheese inside each of the mushrooms, followed by a sprinkle of chopped bacon and a generous pinch of dry seasoning mix.

7) Bake for 12-15 minutes in the center of the oven. Garnish with fresh chopped basil and enjoy hot!
