Ingredients

Ingredients

  • Beef – thinly sliced lean beef cuts like sirloin or round roast against the grain. The thinner the slice, the more crispier.
  • Salt – sea salt preferred.
  • Black Pepper – ground.
  • Garlic Powder – dried ground garlic in powder form.
  • Red Pepper – optional ground red pepper.

Seasoning Add-Ins

Some additional seasoning to consider are ground Red Pepper, Sweetener, Onion Powder, Seasoned Salt, or Cajun Powder. Just remember to stick to dry seasonings as wet ones could affect the crispiness of the beef.

🥩 Beef Note

For optimal results in making Beef Jerky Chips, opt for Lean Cuts such as Round or Sirloin, sliced thinly to about 1/8 of an inch. The thickness of the slices greatly affects both the cooking time and the texture, with thinner slices resulting in a crispier chip.

Can this recipe for beef chips be used to make chipped beef on toast?

  2. Could I possibly do this on a larger scale using a convection oven?

  3. How do you store these, and how long do they last while stored? Thank you. I used to make beef jerky and you’re right, it takes forever. I am totally psyched about this quick and easy method!

Thanks for already joining the mailing list Magaret! We actually store these in a ziplock in the freezer because we like our beef chips very crispy, so they last a very long time in there. But at room temp, I would guess at least a week.
