One of my favorite restaurants here in Los Angeles serving roasted chicken has this extremely addicting secret garlic sauce that I have been raving about for years!

I had tasted it countless times and could never put my finger on what was in it or how to make it.

Fast forward five years later and they started selling a similar sauce at Trader Joes! I was ecstatic!

I was also able to look at the ingredient list and get a better idea of what was in this sauce.

After countless failures and a lot of research on the internet, I think I have the perfect recipe.

It’s super easy to make and adds a touch of delish to all of your foods!

What is keto garlic dip spread?

This garlic sauce is called toum or toumya and is a popular Lebanese sauce.  It’s made by mixing fresh garlic with oil until an emulsion forms thus creating a smooth velvety texture.

What kind of oil can I use to make garlic spread?

Most neutral oils will work for this recipe such as vegetable, canola, avocado, and grapeseed oil.

Full body oils such as olive oil will make the spread bitter, so it’s best to avoid them.

What can I use with garlic dip spread?

This garlic spread is so addicting and goes well with absolutely everything!  It’s best on grilled meats and veggies.  Basically, anything you think needs a garlic kick will take the dish to the next level with this garlic spread.

How long will garlic spread last in the refrigerator?

If kept in a sealed container, this garlic spread can last up to 4 weeks so don’t forget to make extra!

Do I have to use a food processor to make this garlic spread?

I have only ever successfully made this garlic spread in a food processor where you can add ingredients while mixing, however, I have heard people making it with an immersion blender too.

If you don’t own a food processor where you can add ingredients while it’s running, you can give it a shot.

Any tips on making this garlic spread?

The key to making this garlic spread is emulsion.  To achieve this, you must slowly add oil and lemon juice alternating between the two while the food processor is running (this is very important).  This will emulsify the ingredients and give you that smooth and creamy and velvety texture.

For this recipe, all the needed ingredients should be available at your local supermarket.

However, you will need a food processor where you can add ingredients in while the blade is spinning.  Otherwise, you won’t be able to achieve the right consistency.

Now, let’s get mixing some of the best Keto Garlic Dip Spread ever!

Prepping Time 3M

Total Time 3M

Net Carb/Serv ~0.5g

Servings 20

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Garlic Cloves (about 1.5 garlic bulbs)
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt
  • 4 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 Cups Vegetable Oil

Directions

1) Gather all the ingredients.

2) Add garlic and salt into a food processor and chop until a smooth paste is formed.  You’ll have to stop and scrap the sides with a spatula a couple of times during this process.

3) Once a smooth garlic paste is formed, alternate slowly pouring in the 1/2 cup of vegetable oil and then 1 tbsp of lemon juice while the food processor is running.  It’s very important for the liquids to be poured in slowly otherwise it won’t emulsify and will become liquid.

4) Once garlic spread is completed, transfer to an air tight container and store in the fridge until ready for use.
