As you can tell by the name, this Keto chaffle pizza is no ordinary pizza, it’s a Japanese inspired pizza! If you have ever been to japan and had a pizza there, then you would know how delicious they really are!
Last week, the ‘Mrs’ out of nowhere said, I need to go to Target right now so can you watch the kids – bye!
She returned about an hour later with great enthusiasm as she pulled out a Dash Mini Waffle Maker and said ‘this is going to be awesome for LCA’.
The last time this happened, she created the base for the Cream Cheese Cookie Series, so I knew she was onto something good so enter our chaffle series!
About an hour later, we were taste testing the batches of samples to see what waffle we preferred and out came LCA’s cheese waffle base for our chaffle series!
Aside from tasting great, these are really quick to make and also only use 2 ingredients! That sure beats mixing multiple ingredients and the baking time!
We are planning to make all kinds of dishes with these chaffles from sandwiches to desserts to Japanese okonomiyaki!
But to kick off this series, we decided to release a recipe for a Japanese style pizza based on this chaffle.
Although we already have the Japanese Fusion Asparagus Cheese Crust Pizza & Roast Beef Cheese Crust Pizza released, this version differs as the chaffle provides more of a traditional crust rather than the thin crispy crust found in those 2 recipes.
So go ahead and try all the different styles we have released on LCA and see which one you like best!
For this recipe, we elected to use toppings found in Japanese pizzas, but you are free to substitute the toppings to your liking.
Just note that the major ingredients that make the pizza style Japanese is the Kewpie Mayo and the Japanese sausage.
The net carbs on this dish will vary depending on the exact topping and type of pizza sauce you use, but as pictured will come to around ~2.5g per pizza chaffle (base has 1 net carbs).
