I’m sure all you parents out there can relate to this, but you really understand the saying ‘silence is golden’ once you have kids.  For us, we spend most of the day in screaming mayhem while trying to create recipes and work on LCA, so the only time we actually can hear the thoughts in our head is after the kids go to sleep, which we call our golden time!  And what do we do during this golden time?   We enjoy low-carb/keto snacks of course!  Usually, we happen to have some of our Sour Cream and Onion Crackdip or Jalapeno Cheese Dip in the fridge, but on this day we were out.  So instead, we decided to just whip up a quick dip to enjoy with our low-carb tortilla chips.  After a couple of minutes with the hand mixer, we tasted our ‘impulse’ creation and to our surprise and delight, it was really good!!  So good actually that we felt compelled to share this super easy and delicious dip with all of our visitors!  This is a perfect and simple dip to enjoy during a party, sports game or if you are like us, during your golden hour!   Hope you enjoy it!

Cream Cheese Garlic Dip with Furikake LowCarbingAsian Pin 2

This dip is low-carb/keto friendly with ~5g of carbs for the entire batch!  Since this is a dip though, the serving sizes will vary on the individual.  The texture on this dip is creamy and dense, with hints of garlic and sweet and savory of the Furikake mixed in.  For those not familiar with Furikake, it’s just a Japanese seasoning that’s traditional sprinkled on rice and vegetables.

The special ingredient needed for this recipe is only Furikake, which can be picked up on Amazon or a local Asian Supermarket.  You will also need a hand/stand mixer to mix the cream cheese.

5) Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes until golden brown.  If tortillas do not crisp, continue baking for an additional 2-3 minutes.

6) Grate garlic with a grater or a garlic press and place into a mixing bowl.  Note – it is very important to grate or press and NOT mince garlic here.  Mincing doesn’t express the garlic oil enough, which is where the majority of garlic flavor comes from.
