This cream cheese garlic dip with Furikake is what dip dreams are made of! This dip is so addicting we probably should have named it Furikake crack dip!
Like I have mentioned in many of my previous blog posts, most of our recipe creations come from cravings we have.
And usually these cravings come when the kids have finally gone to bed. This is when I’m most relaxed, and when I’m relaxed, I like the snack!
On this particular night, we had leftover baked low carb tortilla chips that I didn’t want to go to waste but we ran out of our usual Sour Cream and Onion Crackdip.
So naturally, I went into my fridge and immediately see cream cheese and garlic and a light bulb went off.
As I started to mix the cream cheese and garlic together, I realized that adding some Furikake in probably wouldn’t hurt so I did and POW I was like, This IS it!!
It was creamy, garlicky and the Furikake added a powerful umami kick to it.
The flavors of the cream cheese, garlic and Furikake mix went so well together. We knew had to share it with all of you!
This is a perfect and simple dip to enjoy during a party, sports game or if you’re like us, during your golden hour! Hope you enjoy it!
This dip is low-carb/keto friendly with ~5g of carbs for the entire batch! Since this is a dip though, the serving sizes will vary on the individual.
The texture on this dip is creamy and dense, with hints of garlic and sweet and savory of the Furikake mixed in.
Furikake, for those that aren’t familiar, is a Japanese seasoning usually topped on rice but can used with other recipes with a little creativity! There are many different variations, but they typically contain seaweed, sesame, sugar, and salt.
Now, let’s get started!
Prepping Time 5M
Total Time 5M
Net Carb/Serv ~5g
Servings 4-6 (about 1.5 cups of dip)
Ingredients
Dip
- 8oz Cream Cheese
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 1 tbsp Furikake
Dip Pairings
- 1 Cup Unflavored Pork Rinds (optional)
- 2 Pieces of Low Carb Tortillas (optional)
- 2-4 Pieces each of Celery, Broccoli, and Cucumber (optional)
Directions
1) Gather all the ingredients.
2) If you are pairing this dip with the baked Low Carb Tortillas chips, preheat oven to 400 F. If not, skip to step 6).
3) Cut both tortillas into 8 wedges giving you 16 triangle chips.
4) Lay tortillas evenly on a parchment lined baking sheet or silicone baking mat as pictured and generously spray over tortillas with cooking oil of your choice. Alternatively you can brush them with melted butter.
5) Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes until golden brown. If tortillas do not crisp, continue baking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
6) Grate garlic with a grater or a garlic press and place into a mixing bowl. Note – it is very important to grate or press and NOT mince garlic here. Mincing doesn’t express the garlic oil enough, which is where the majority of garlic flavor comes from.
7) In the mixing bowl, add block of cream cheese and Furikake. Using a hand/stand mixer, mix for about 1 minute until the cream cheese is broken down into a dip like texture.
8) Transfer to serving bowl and serve with choice of baked Low Carb Tortillas chips, Unflavored Pork Rinds, or mix of celery, broccoli, and cucumbers.
Hope you enjoy your low-carb/keto Cream Cheese Garlic Dip w/Furikake!
