How to make Creamy Lemon Chicken?

  1. Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, chili powder, and any additional optional seasonings you prefer. If using chicken breast, be sure to butterfly it or slice to 1/2 inch thickness for even cooking
  2. Heat olive oil in a frying pan and cook the chicken for 3-4 minutes per side, covered, over medium heat, until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and turns golden brown. Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a holding plate.
  3. In the same frying pan, without cleaning it, add butter and grated garlic. Cook over medium-low heat until the butter is melted.
  4. Next, add chicken broth, chicken bouillon, lemon juice, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper to the pan. Whisk the ingredients until well combined and bring the mixture to a soft boil.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the sauce, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the sauce is reduced and slightly thickened. Serve the chicken over rice, pasta, or enjoy it by itself. Top it with freshly chopped cilantro and drizzle the sauce on top.

Recipe Notes

While some recipes suggest flour-dredging the chicken before pan-frying, our testing shows that it’s an unnecessary step for this recipe.
