Our family is big on pork belly and we love to find new and inventive ways of preparing it.

From Chashu pork, Korean BBQ Marinated Pork Belly, to Pork Belly Wrapped Asparagus and Pan Fried Ginger Pork Belly, we love it all!

But what sets this recipe apart from the others is the use of the air fryer!

Up until now, we have never made pork belly in an air fryer so the recipes were more labor intensive, a little more complicated with slightly longer cooking times.

You might ask, why after 2 years of starting LCA did I never try putting pork belly in the air fryer?

Well, that’s because I only recently bought an air fryer and am now just understanding all the hype!

I can’t say enough good things about the air fryer and I use it almost every day!  So if you don’t have one and are on the fence about it, I would say go for it!

This pork belly recipe is the easiest one we’ve ever made to date because all you do is mix the dry rub ingredients together, sprinkle over the pork belly and throw it in the air fryer.

Within minutes, you have delicious, crispy pork belly and you barely did any work!

The ingredients you would need for this recipe is just Monkfruit, which you can pick up on Amazon or your local supermarket.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Slice of Pork Belly (the Costco one is about 10″ in length)
  • 1 tsp Monkfruit
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Stalk Green Onion

Directions

1) Gather all the ingredients.

2) In a mixing bowl, combine Monkfruit, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.  Mix well and set aside.

3) Rub seasoning from step 2) into the pork belly.

4) Place entire pork belly into the air fryer and cook at 360F for 16-18 minutes.

5) In the meantime, finely chop green onions and set aside.

6) Once pork belly are done, slice pork belly into 1/4 to 1/2 inch thickness, transfer to a serving plate and sprinkle on green onions.

    How crispy does the skin come up on this recipe?

      Hi Tony! Thank you very much for your kinds words! On our air fryer, they came out pretty crispy. I would say like a 7 on a scale of 10. If you want them crispier, you can fry them longer, but the trade-off is that the meat itself it going to become harder (overcooked) as well.
