These easy keto garlic butter sea salt bread rolls are so good you won’t believe they’re low carb! They’re deliciously cheesy with a hint of garlic baked and topped with butter and sea salt.
If you’ve been following us lately, you know that we have been baking up a storm making different bread rolls to suit our long list of cravings.
It started with the green onion cheese rolls, then the cheddar jalapeño rolls, we also made a cheese dog that I highly recommend if you have a craving for pigs in a blanket, low-carb/keto style!
After making all these different low carb bread rolls, I wanted a roll that was pretty basic, one that I could cut in half and use as buns for a tuna sandwich or even a mini meatball sandwich if I felt like it.
This is how these garlic butter sea salt bread rolls came about. They have just the right amount of flavor but are also basic enough for just about anything you can think of.
This is a low-carb/keto, wheat and gluten-free bread roll that’s made entirely out of cheese and Almond Flour.
So it won’t achieve the same textures of bread made from gluten and wheat, but still taste great!
What you’ll get is a bread roll that’s slightly denser but full, and I mean full of amazing flavors and will satisfy your carb cravings!
Plus these rolls are dense, so they’re ultra filling and one little roll goes a long way!
I recommend eating these cheese rolls warm because they will become denser as they cool. When this happens, just pop them in the microwave for 10 seconds and they are good to go!
Now if you’re ready, let’s get going!

Just tried these and they are very good. Just wondering how they should be stored.
Hello Jen! Glad you liked them! We usually just store it in the fridge and throw them in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to warm them back up.
When you list the nutritional information as “per serving” under servings you have: “Servings: 6 rolls”. To make sure I’m reading your recipe correctly are you listing one serving as 6 rolls?! I’m surprised because you usually would expect a serving to be 1 roll…So, I just want to be sure.
Thank you!
Hi Lynne – the recipe makes 6 rolls/servings and the serving size is 1 roll. I know it’s confusing the way it’s written, but it’s hard coded into the recipe program and we can’t change it for various of reason.
Thank you for sharing this recipe. It turned out really good. It is light as compared to other recipes I used before. I realized it is the baking powder. Is baking powder keto approved?
Hello Maureen – baking powder is fine to use under a keto low carb diet.
My rolls are flat. Why is that so?
Hey Julie! Hard to say but it could have been 1) the rolls weren’t a perfect ball and compacted before baking 2) measurements of an ingredient could have been off. The only time that happened to me was when we were recipe testing and formed ovals rather than balls before baking.
Could I make the dough ahead and keep in fridge for a couple days, then bake them?
Hi Jennifer – we’ve never made the dough before in advanced, so can’t say but we have kept the baked cheese rolls in the fridge for about a week and they were fine. Just throw them in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to warm it up.
