What is Sautéed Bacon Garlic Green Beans?

Green beans are sautéed with bacon, garlic and light Japanese style sauce.  We like to keep them al dente so we cook them until they are done while still having a crispy crunch to them.

What is Japanese sake and why do you use it in this recipe?

Japanese sake is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice and used in this recipe to help mend all the flavors together.

Note if you don’t have any Japanese sake, you can substitute with some dry sherry wine.

Both methods are pretty similar with the main difference being the heat at which the recipes are cooked.

Stir-frying uses very high heat to quickly cook food while sautéing uses a wide shallow fry pan on different levels of heat.
