These days, everywhere I look I see charcuterie boards. For those of you that are not familiar, charcuterie boards consist of a variety of meats and cheeses, nuts, fruits and spreads that are often beautifully displayed.
The charcuterie board trend is one that is really perfect for the low-carb/keto community especially when entertaining or needing something impressive to bring to an event or party.
Quite often, I see the question asked, “What is something low-carb/keto that I can bring to a potluck party?” Of course, there is the usual salad or deviled eggs, but when I really want to knock the socks off of everyone, my go-to is a CHARCUTERIE BOARD!
Not only is it an impressive dish to look at but it also doesn’t require any cooking. All it takes is just some creative assembling and you are on your way.
There is no right or wrong way to make a charcuterie board and you can choose from an array of different food options. Some ideas for a low-carb/keto charcuterie board include:
Deli Meats – Turkey, Roast Beef, Ham, Prosciutto, Salami, Sausage, Pepperoni, etc.
Cheese – Cheddar, Swiss, Gouda, Manchego, Parmigiano-reggiano, Brie, Feta, Provolone, Harvarti, etc.
Keto Friendly Fruit – Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Cantaloupe, Coconut etc.
Keto Friendly Nuts – Almonds, Pecans, Macadamia Nuts, Walnuts, Pine nuts, Hazelnuts, etc.
Feel free to add olives, pickles, peppers, as well as any other low-carb/keto friendly antipasto.
Boards – There are a variety of boards you can choose to use for your platter such as food safe wooden boards, cutting boards, slate, marble slabs, and ceramic platters just to name a few. They also sell charcuterie boards specificaly for this purpose. If you don’t have any of that fancy stuff then a baking sheet layered with parchment paper works just fine as well.
The charcuterie board pictured is one I made for a Mother’s Day Gathering we held at our house and that’s the one I will be providing this recipe based off of, but like stated above, you can add whatever you would like!

- 2oz Oven Roasted Turkey
- 2oz Dry Salami
- 2oz Proscuitto
- 4oz Brie
- 4oz Sharp Cheddar
- 4oz Gouda
- 4oz Swiss
- 4oz Havarti
- 4oz Cotswold
- 4oz White Cheddar
- 2oz Strawberries
- 1oz Raspberries
- 1oz Blackberries
- 1oz Cherry Tomatoes
- 2oz Cucumbers
- 3oz Dry Roasted Almonds
1) Choose your board
2) Choose your meats and cheeses
3) Choose your fruits and nuts
4) Choose any spreads or dips
5) Choose any low-carb/keto friendly crackers substitutes
6) Choose any antipasto accompaniments
7) Now arrange these items as carefully or as natural as you like. The key is to play around with layering, folding and rolling the different meats and cheeses.
**I did make a couple dips (not pictured) that I placed on a separate board which included our Sour Cream Garlic & Onion Crackdip and our Cream Cheese Garlic Dip w/Furikake along with some cheese crisps and pork rinds.
Mother’s day was a success and everyone was very impressed with the beautiful spread. It was my first but definitely not last time making a charcuterie board for future events and gatherings.
