Keto Japanese Style Seafood Pasta

If you miss pasta as much as many of our readers do, then this keto low carb Japanese style seafood pasta is a must try!

As I mentioned back on our Keto Tarako Spaghetti post, we recently just started to ketofy some of our favorite pasta dishes.

Keto Low Carb Japanese Style Seafood Pasta

We always knew there were low-carb/keto pasta substitutes, but just never got around to experimenting with them until we read some of the comments on our Facebook page and became inspired!

So with that, the next dish we decided to ketofy is one of our favorites to enjoy in the summer – keto low carb Japanese style seafood pasta!

I’m a huge seafood fan, especially in the summer, and it’s hard to beat a light cream sauce seafood mix pasta paired with a glass of crisp Pinot Gris/Grigio!

This dish is similar to that of the West, but adds a few ingredients to make it represent the flavors found in Japanese cuisine!

It’s much lighter making the flavors of the seafood to be bolder, which pairs fantastically with a crisp white wine.

So next time you looking for something to enjoy in the summer heat, give this Keto Japanese Style Seafood Pasta and see how you like it!

Note – if you are really want the seafood flavors to pop, we would recommend also adding some live clams as well.

For this pasta dish, we opted to try the Angel Hair Shirataki Noodles and they ended tasting good!  They paired well with the seafood flavors and provided for the proportionate amount of ‘fill’ with each bite.

This dish will run you about ~5g net carbs per serving but keep in mind that most of the carbs come from the seafood mix as shellfish do contain carbs.

For this dish, the special ingredients you would need are Soy Sauce, Shirataki Noodles, Kewpie Mayo, and a frozen seafood mix (or you can use fresh if you prefer).  You can get these ingredients on Amazon or at a local Asian supermarket.

Note – make sure the seafood mix you’re using doesn’t contain imitation crab (if it does, just pick them out).  Imitation crab contains a lot of sugar in them.

Now, let’s get cooking!

7) Once water is boiling, strain prepackaged liquid from Shirataki Noodles and cook noodles only for 2 minutes (this process is to remove the prepacked liquid completely from the noodles rather than make it softer).  Once 2 minutes has passed, strain noodles very thoroughly.  This is a very important step to ensure the consistency of the sauce.

8) Preheat a large Teflon fry pan on high heat for about 1 minute and then add butter and diced onions.  Cook until onions turn lightly brown and fragrant (about 1-1.5 minutes).

9)  Next add seafood mix, minced garlic, white wine and Clam Juice.  Continue to cook while occasional mixing until seafood is cooked through and almost no liquid remains in the pan, should take around 6-9 minutes.
