These Keto Cheddar Jalapeno Rolls are the best bread alternative when you’re getting those carb cravings! Sharp cheddar and fresh jalapeños ensure these rolls are packed with delicious flavors keeping you full and satisfied!
It’s been over 5 years since I started my low-carb/keto journey and I’m just now starting to experiment with making different kinds of bread.
I first started out with this low carb bagel recipe that turned out amazing and gave me the confidence to start making other types of bread and rolls!
The first time I tried cheddar and jalapeño bread, I was blown away by the amazing blend of flavors. Whoever thought about adding those two flavors together into a bread are geniuses!
Of course, I knew I had to try to make a low-carb/keto version, so I set off to do just that!
After a few flops, I was able to make cheddar jalapeño rolls that my kids couldn’t get enough of. That’s when I knew I go it right.
Just a forewarning, these rolls are made from Almond Flour and cheese, so if you’re expecting the same texture as a bread roll made from wheat flour, these aren’t for you.
They’re denser, but also more flavorful and very filling. Not to forget, low-carb/keto!
For this recipe, the special ingredients you would need is Almond Flour, which can be purchased on Amazon or a local specialty supermarket.
Now if you’re ready, let’s get going!

Cooking Time 17M
Total Time 27M
Net Carb/Roll ~2g
Servings 6 Rolls
Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup Almond Flour
- 1/2 tbsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 1/4 Cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 2 oz Cream Cheese
- 2 tbsp Chopped Jalapeno (about 1/2 Jalapeno)
- 1 Egg (Egg Wash)
Directions
1) Gather all ingredients.
2) Preheat oven to 350F and line baking sheet with silicone baking mat (parchment paper works as well).
3) De-seed jalapeno and finely chop. If you prefer more spiciness, leave some of the seeds in.
4) Combine Almond Flour, Baking Powder, and garlic powder in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.
5) In a different large microwavable bowl, add sharp shredded cheddar and cream cheese. Microwave for 30-45 seconds, take out and stir, then microwave for 30-45 more seconds and stir again. Continue this process until the cheese is completely melted.
6) Add the Almond Flour mixture from step 4) into the cheese bowl while still warm, quickly knead with hands until dough like consistency and everything is fully combined. If dough cools too much just microwave for a few seconds, take out and knead again.
7) Combine chopped jalapeno with cheese roll mix. Once combined, separate into 6 equal parts, form balls and place onto a silicone baking mat. Repeat until all the mix is used.
8) Beat egg in a bowl and gently brush onto buns (egg wash).
9) Bake for 17-19 minutes, until buns are firm and slightly golden brown. Enjoy warm!
