Now going back to this matcha recipe, when our friends over at choczero sent us some strawberry white chocolate chips to try, I knew I had to make a matcha cookie using them!

I love the way they turned out and how amazingly well the matcha complements the white chocolate strawberry flavor. It’s a match made in heaven!

And if you haven’t tried Choc Zero, I highly recommend you do!

What are matcha cookies?

Matcha cookies are made with low carb friendly ingredients such as almond flour, matcha powder, butter, cream cheese, and monkfruit.

Why is it important to cool the cream cheese cookies after baking?

These cookies are bound together by the cream cheese. So after baking, the cream cheese must harden back to hold the cookie together. To speed up this process, you can throw the cookies under a fan for 10 minutes or even place the entire baking tray in the freezer. They will come out solid!

What are strawberry white chocolate chips and where do I get them?

The strawberry white chocolate chips we use are from Choc Zero. They are sugar-free and really delicious!

How should I store these cookies and how long do they keep?

Store these cookies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

What kind of matcha powder should I use for these cream cheese cookies?

We usually buy culinary grade matcha, which you can find at your local grocery store or online at Amazon.

  • Prepping Time 5M
  • Baking Time 16-20M
  • Total Time 21M
  • Net Carb/Cookie ~2g
  • Servings 12 Cookies

Ingredients

Directions

1) Gather all the ingredients.

2) Preheat oven to 325F.

3) Melt butter in a small bowl in the microwave (about 45-60 seconds). After the butter is melted, mix in Matcha Powder until dissolved and set aside.

4) In a large mixing bowl, combine Almond Flour, sweetener, softened cream cheese and melted Matcha Powder butter. Mix well for about 1 minute with a hand/stand mixer. Note – make sure melted butter is at room temperature when pouring otherwise it will ‘cook’ the batter.

5) Once mixed, fold in the Strawberry White Chocolate Chips by hand.

6) Roll the dough into 1 inch size balls and place on a silicone baking mat or greased baking sheet.

7) Press down the dough balls using your palm of your hand to roughly 1/4 inch thickness.

8) Bake at 325 F for 16-20 minutes (ours took 17 minutes) or until bottom edges start to slightly brown. Once done, wait at least 10 minutes for cookie to cool down prior to handling. We prefer enjoying the cookies once they have completely cooled down and hardened, which takes about 1 hour, but it’s up to you!
