  1. Start by dissolving your preferred sweetener in a glass with a bit of carbonated water.
  2. Next, in a tall or highball glass, add lime slices and fresh mint leaves.
  3. Use a muddler to gently mash them 5-6 times, avoid over-mashing to prevent bitterness.
  4. Add ice cubes, the sweetener mixture, and white rum.

  • Lime – organic lime is best since you will be including the peel when using the muddler.
  • Mint Leaves – fresh mint leaves.
  • Sweetener – use your preferred sweetener.
  • Carbonated Water – club soda, sparkling water, soda water.
  • White Rum – use your preferred best rum brand.

  • 1 Slice Lime
  • 8 Mint Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Sweetener your preferred sweetener
  • 6 fl oz Carbonated Water we use SodaStream
  • 2 Cubes Ice
  • 1.5 fl oz White Rum


  • Gather all the ingredients.
  • Slice lime and set aside.
  • In glass cup/tumbler, add sweetener and 2 tbsp carbonated water. Mix well until all the sweetener has dissolved (about 20-30 seconds) and then set aside.
  • In a new glass cup/tumbler, combine a slice of lime with mint leaves. Muddle 5-6 six times until mints are mashed together with lime juice. Note - don't over muddle otherwise too much lime oil will make the mojito taste bitter.
  • Add ice, sweetened liquid from step 3), white rum and top off with carbonated water. Give your mojito a quick mix before enjoying!

      Hi Theresa! So glad to hear you are enjoying our content! Mojito are usually made with sprite/lemon lime soda, so I think a diet or zero version of those drinks would be a better substitute. Using ginger ale would change the flavor, but that wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing.
