This keto strawberry iced green tea is a perfect refreshing drink for the spring and summer months! Made with natural strawberry powder and an earthy green tea, it’s a healthy and natural low carb drink you can make in the comfort of your own home!
Ice green teas have always been one of my favorite drinks that I make all year long. It’s a great keto and low carb drink that’s calorie free!
As you might have come across in a recent post, I’ve been experimenting with making strawberry powder using fresh homemade dehydrated strawberries.
After being really satisfied with the way it turned out, I had the idea to use the natural strawberry powder to make a keto strawberry iced green tea!
The process of making strawberry powder may be off-putting but it’s really fairly simple to make. It’s just dehydrating sliced strawberries in the oven for 3 hours, then put into the high-speed blender until a powder forms.
If you prefer, I do have a shortcut which is buying ready-made dehydrated or freeze dried strawberries from your local grocery store, then just blending them into a powder.
Either way works just fine and it also stores in the freezer for a very long time.
What is keto strawberry iced green tea and what does it taste like?
Keto strawberry iced green tea tastes like a mix of earthy green tea, infused with natural strawberry flavors. The taste is very natural and slightly sweet.
What kind of sweetener do you recommend using for keto drinks?
My favorite low carb sweetener is Monkfruit, but feel free to use any type of sweetener. If you prefer having unsweetened strawberry iced green tea, you can omit the sweetener altogether.
What is keto strawberry powder and how do I make it?
There are two ways to make this powder. You can follow the directions for our dehydrated strawberry powder recipe here or buy freeze dried strawberries from your local grocery store and use a blender to make it into a powder. We cover both methods in our strawberry powder recipe post.
Can I use loose leaf green tea instead of a tea bag to make strawberry iced green tea?
You can use any preferred method you brew your own green tea! When I want a quick drink, I use a tea bag, and when I want a true green tea flavor, I’ll brew up some green tea using loose leaf green tea.
What kind of green tea can I use?
Any green tea, jasmine or matcha green tea can be used for this recipe. Some of my favorite green tea bag brands include Ito-en and Twinings.
