What ingredients do I need to make Strawberry Matcha Latte?

  • Strawberries Puree –  de-stemmed and pureed in the food processor. Choose from fresh or frozen strawberries. The more ripe the strawberries are, the sweeter your puree will be but you can also adjust the sweetener to your liking. Other methods of preparing the strawberry mixture can be using a masher or a fork to mash the strawberries or using a blender.
  • Sweetener – use your preferred sweetener.
  • Matcha Powder – green tea leaves that have been ground into a powder. Culinary grade Matcha Powder will work for this recipe but you can also use ceremonial grade premium matcha if preferred.
  • Milk – can also use your choice of milk or milk alternative. Coconut Milk, Almond Milk, soy milk, oat milk etc.
  • Heavy Cream (optional) – heavy cream or heavy whipping cream.

Boba Add-in

Follow the package instructions to boil the boba in hot water. Then, add it to the bottom of the drink along with the strawberry puree.

Alternative Milk

  • Almond Milk
  • Soy Milk
  • Oat Milk
  • Coconut Milk

You can opt for various alternative milk choices listed above  to maintain a dairy-free, vegan, and low-carb profile.

What Kind of Matcha to Use

  • Less vibrant green color and is commonly used for everyday culinary needs. It also tends to be more budget-friendly in terms of pricing.

Ceremonial Grade

  • Vivid green color and is reserved for occasions where the tea’s visual presentation is important, such as ceremonial tea ceremonies. Higher in pricing.

Our recommendation is culinary grade matcha. While the most significant distinction lies in the color and pricing, it’s worth noting that the flavor and taste variations between the two are subtle, and their caffeine levels are quite similar.
