Our newest entry to our Keto Korean BBQ series is the traditional Korean BBQ Grilled Pork Belly known as Samgyeopsal-gui.
This recipe goes perfectly with our Korean BBQ Garlic Marinated Pork Belly recipe as it shares the same meats, ingredients and is very easy to make.
You may have already noticed that we have a lot of pork belly recipes. So why do we love pork belly so much you might ask?
Well, it’s a fatty meat which we happen to be a fan of, and not only is it fatty but it’s the perfect ratio between the fat and lean meat in pork belly that makes it such a delicious and desired cut of meat!
The meat actually requires virtually no prep work or marinating because it’s all about the sauce for this dish!
The sauce we pair this meat with is a very simple sesame oil sauce, but don’t let that fool you from how amazing the pairing tastes!
This recipe has been around for a very long time in Korean tradition and for good reason! It’s simple, easy and absolutely delicious!
We definitely recommend adding this dish to your next BBQ party and making it a Keto Korean BBQ FEAST in your own backyard!
You can pan fry the meat but we strongly recommend cooking this on the BBQ to get that extra smoke flavor infused into the meat.
Pair those flavors with the sesame oil dipping sauce and you’ll have yourself a flavor profile that really highlights the delicious and delicate characteristics of pork belly and sesame.
For this dish, the only special ingredients you would need are Sesame Oil and Toasted Sesame Seeds. Both can be picked up on Amazon or a local Asian supermarket.
Note – make sure you pick up 100% Sesame Oil and not the blended type as the flavors on those are heavily diluted.
Now, let’s get cooking!
