If you’re looking for a creamy, decadent drink to give you a mid-day boost, then look no further because this matcha cream cheese foam milk tea is all that and more!
Cheese tea is everywhere these days and growing in popularity. I see more and more boba shops selling these delicious drinks.
Of course, I had to take cheese tea to the next level and make matcha cheese tea or what we call like to call matcha cream cheese foam milk tea! I know, a mouth full isn’t it!
Now, before you write this bizarre drink idea off, you have to know that there isn’t one person that has tasted this recipe and didn’t automatically love it!
I took our original cheese tea recipe and added some matcha to create this beautiful bright green foam.
Then I layered it over cold milk tea and what da ya know, it’s one of the best milk tea drinks I’ve ever created!
It’s sweet with an earthy flavor from the matcha, with a savory finish. The perfect combo!
This drink is meant to be drunken straight from the cup and not a straw. That way you get a little taste of the cream cheese foam before the milk tea hits your mouth. Let me tell you, it’s an experience!
What is matcha cream cheese foam tea?
I blended cream cheese, matcha, heavy cream, half and half and sea salt until it was light and creamy, then I topped it over my milk tea recipe.
What’s milk tea?
Milk tea is essential just black or jasmine tea mixed with milk. Our preferred way to prepare tea is by using loose leaf tea.
Can I use tea bags instead of loose leaf tea to make cream cheese tea?
You can use tea bags however, I recommend a long steep so you can get a bold tea flavor.
If using loose leaf teas, we also recommend getting a bottom tea dispenser that makes brewing tea and cleaning a breeze!
What’s matcha and what kind should I use?
Matcha is ground of green tea leaves and has many health benefits. You can use culinary grade or ceremonial grade however the latter will be more expensive while delivering a deeper robust color.
How long does the matcha cream cheese foam last in the fridge?
If you don’t use all the cream cheese foam, you can refrigerate the foam for up to 3 days.
