Ingredients

Ingredients

  • Bacon Slices – thick cut bacon strips are best.
  • Toothpicks – used to hold the strips of bacon in place when baking.
  • Asparagus – If using very thin asparagus, you can use a few pieces per roll.
  • Shrimp – use extra large or jumbo, fresh or frozen shrimp.
  • Neutral Oil no taste or flavor with high cooking temperature. Some choices are sunflower oil, peanut oil, sallower oil, vegetable oil, and canola oil.
  • Garlic – these will be sliced, fried and used as a topping.
  • Sriracha – Asian style chill sauce.
  • Mayonnaise – use Japanese Kewpie Mayo. Can substitute with regular mayo but will alter flavor.
  • Green Onion – finely chopped green onion scallions.
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds – optional garnish.

🥓 Bacon Note

Best to use Thick and Center-Cut Bacon for an easier time making the bacon wraps.

For optimal results, utilize a Large Frying Pan with a Flat Bottom when implementing this cooking pro tip. Also Avoid Overcrowding the pan while cooking to ensure even heat distribution and proper cooking of ingredients.

Step 4 In the same frying pan, add cooking oil and sliced garlic. Cook under medium heat until the garlic is browned and crispy then transfer to a holding bowl.

🧄 Garlic Chip Pro Tip

For a quick and efficient method to make garlic chips, Microwave sliced garlic with oil for about 30 Seconds. Be sure to cover the bowl to prevent any splattering.

Step 5 Create the roll-up by placing a cooked shrimp and 2 pieces of cooked asparagus on a strip of shaped bacon. Drizzle with spicy mayo mix, then roll the bacon around the filling. Garnish with garlic chips, toasted sesame seeds, and chopped green onions before transferring to a serving plate.
