These super juicy keto meatballs baked with feta are not only a perfect keto meal but it’s also a one-stop shop for all the ingredients at Trader Joe’s!
One of my favorite places to shop is Trader Joe’s and I love it when I can get all the ingredients I need for a recipe in one place.
That’s why I’m working on this new series where I create keto recipes from ingredients I find at Trader Joe’s.
Like this baked keto meatballs recipe that is so deliciously flavorful and juicy! When topped with feta, they’re taken to the next level of deliciousness.
Now I know you could just buy the frozen meatballs and do the same thing, but honestly, there’s nothing better than fresh homemade meatballs made with wholesome ingredients!
Plus, you can cut out some extra carbs!
What is keto baked meatballs with feta?
These meatballs are mixed with half ground beef and half ground pork. The pork is what makes these meatballs ultra juicy. They are first baked to doneness, then topped with marinara and feta.
Does feta cheese melt in the oven?
Feta technically does not melt in the way that mozzarella melts but it does get very soft and creamy, which is what we are aiming for.
What’s Trader Joe’s and what is this keto Trader Joe series?
Trader Joe’s is an all-natural grocery store with locations throughout the US (sorry for all of those not in the US or living near a TJ). They mainly carry privately branded Trader Joe’s products that deliver excellent quality at a very affordable price.
This Trader Joe’s series is for those of you who live a low carb/keto lifestyle and love shopping at Trader Joe’s. It will focus on recipes that are created with ingredients all found at Trader Joe’s.
What other cheese can I use aside from feta to make keto baked meatballs?
Honestly, you can use any type of cheese you prefer. My favorites include goat cheese, queso fresco, cotija, and ricotta.
Why do you use a blend of ground pork and beef to make your meatballs?
I always like to mix pork in my ground beef because I find it makes them juicier and less dry. If you prefer, you can always just use only ground beef.
