Gather all the ingredients.
Finely dice 1/4 of a large onion. You should end up with around 1 cup of loosely chopped onions.
In a medium Teflon fry pan, add olive oil and chopped onions. Cook on medium heat until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
After 30 seconds has passed, add butter and lower heat to medium low. Sprinkle salt and mix together. Cook for 15 minutes to caramelize onions mixing occasionally.
In the meantime, finely mince garlic and chop green onion and set aside.
After 15 minutes have passed, combine garlic into a medium Teflon fry pan with caramelized onion. Stir well and cook for 5 more minutes.
After 5 minutes, transfer caramelized garlic onion to a bowl and place inside a freezer for 5 minutes (to cool-down).
After 5 minutes, in a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, Kewpie Mayo, green onions, caramelized onion mix and mix well. Transfer to a serving bowl.
Serve with optional Pork Rinds or vegetable sticks of your choice.
