- 1 Cup Diced Onion
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 1 Cup Sour Cream
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 4 tbsp Kewpie Mayo
- 1 Stalk Green Onions
- 1 Cup Pork Rinds optional
Gather all the ingredients.
Finely dice onions. You should end up with around 1 cup of loosely chopped onions. Note - if you have a food processor, use it on this step.
In a medium Teflon fry pan, add olive oil and chopped onions. Cook on medium-low for 30 seconds.
After 30 seconds has passed, add butter and lower heat to low. Sprinkle salt and mix together. Cook for 15 minutes to caramelize onions mixing occasionally.
In the meantime, finely chop garlic and set aside. Note - if you have a food processor, use it on this step but do not combine with step 6).
Finely chop green onion and set aside. Note - if you have a food processor, use it on this step.
After 15 minutes has passed, combine garlic into a medium Teflon fry pan with caramelized onion. Stir well and cook for 5 more minutes.
After 5 minutes, transfer caramelized garlic onion to a bowl and place inside a freezer for 5 minutes (to cool-down).
After 5 minutes, in a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, Kewpie mayo, green onions, caramelized onion mix and mix well. Transfer to serving bowl.
Serve with optional pork rinds or vegetable sticks of your choice.
