Ingredients
2New York Strip or Rib Eye Steakpreferably 1 inch thickness
1tspSalt
1/2tspBlack Pepper
2tbspButter
2ClovesGarlic
2tbspNeutral High Temp Oil
1tspFresh Parsley
Instructions
Gather all the ingredients.
Preheat oven to 425F.
Pat dry steak with a paper towel and sprinkle 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper per side of steak. Note - we recommend to let the steak sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes after seasoning for even cooking and letting the seasoning settle.
Add butter into a microwave safe bowl and melt in microwave (20-30 seconds).
Grate garlic with a grater or a garlic press, chop parsley and combine with butter as shown below and set aside.
Add neutral oil into a cast iron pan on high heat until lightly smoking. Once up to heat, place steak inside the pan and cook each side for 1.5-2 minutes to sear. Note - Don't move or lift up the steak while searing.
After searing both sides, remove from heat, top with garlic butter and transfer the entire pan into the oven. Cook the steaks in the oven based on the doneness chart below. Note - times will vary depending on the exact cut and thickness.
Transfer steak onto a serving plate, spoon over juice from the pan and enjoy hot!
